“Dr. Tom Gustafson, Colts Neck Chiropractor Working With Trenton Thunder Baseball Team”
Dr. Tom Gustafson, Chiropractor and owner of the Active Healing Center in Colts Neck, N.J., will be working with the players of the Trenton Thunder baseball team. The Trenton Thunder is the Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees. Beginning in the spring of 2011 Dr. Gustafson will be working with the Thunder training staff to rehabilitate injured players. The primary goal of Dr. Gustafson will be to keep the highly trained athletes healthy, eliminate injuries and enhance the rehabilitation process of injured players, getting them back on the field faster and in better physical shape.
As a part of the New York Yankee organization the Trenton Thunder have a history of winning and producing great talent at the Major League level. The Thunder won consecutive championships in the Eastern League in 2007 and 2008. They finished first in the league last year but lost the Championship to the Altoona Curve. Some players that have contributed to recent New York Yankee success that have gone through the Trenton Thunder are: Robinson Cano, Joba Chamberlain, Brett Gardner, Phil Hughes, Phil Coke and Melky Cabrera.
Dr. Gustafson and the Active Healing Center focus on correction of structural and functional deficits to the spine. Common conditions that we work with are spinal joint and disc degeneration, disc bulge/herniation, chronic tension and migraine headaches, chronic muscle strains especially of the spine and legs (hamstring, quadriceps). Dr. Gustafson incorporates a spinal rehabilitation and correction program in his facility that produces life changing results for his patients. He will take the same approach to the work he will perform with these amazing athletes looking to make it to the major league level.
